Calling all art junkies!

The annual member exhibit by the Blue Ridge Art Clan will be featured in The Gallery of the Ashe County Arts Center from April 26 through May 28. The Blue Ridge Art Clan was founded in the 1970s by the late Florence Thomas as a way of nurturing and supporting Ashe County’s artists. They meet the fourth Saturday of each month.

The show will feature the work of local painters using oil, watercolor, pastels, acrylics, collages and mixed media. Landscapes, florals, portraits and still life will be included. Exhibiting members include Nancy Ball, Pete Benda, Carol Ann Whitmore Herring, Lesley Lewis, Ron Pehmoeller, Ed Perzel, Patrick Richardson, Audrey Spencer, LaMae Strange, Dawn Wicklow, and others.

The artists’ reception will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. on Friday evening, April 29. For more information about Shadow of the Hills or the Blue Ridge Art Clan, call the Ashe County Arts Council at 336.846-2787.
