There’s something new in the world of music in Ashe County! So if you have been looking for that new perfect new hobby to entertain your creative side, you can stop searching and find your voice! A springtime community chorus is forming under the sponsorship of the Ashe County Arts Council.  As an outgrowth of the Ashe County Choral Society, the new Ashe Community Singers will begin rehearsals on Monday evening, March 21.

The chorus is open to everyone who loves choral music and who wants to sing with a large group of singers; auditions are not required. The repertoire will be a mix of classical, contemporary, and popular music; there will be something for everyone! There is a $25 fee to defray the cost of the music.

The concert will be presented at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, May 14 at the Ashe Civic Center and offered free to the public. The Ashe Community Singers concert receives support from the Grassroots Arts Program Grant of the North Carolina Arts Council.
